The official syllabus is available as a PDF in this site package. Students should use it to understand expected AI, math, programming, and reasoning topics.

Online Format

COAI will be conducted online. Students should prepare a quiet testing environment, reliable device, and stable internet access.

Registration closes on May 27. The competition takes place on May 29, and results are announced on May 31.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is 25 CAD. Payment instructions will be provided through the registration form once it is connected.

Eligibility

The competition is open to individuals only, with no restrictions on nationality.

  • For the COAI National Qualifier, all students currently enrolled full-time in secondary schools, Grades 9-12, regardless of country, are eligible to participate.
  • Students enrolled full-time in Canadian secondary schools, or students enrolled full-time in other countries who hold a Canadian passport, are eligible to be selected for the IOAI Canada National Team and represent Canada at IOAI 2026.

Team Canada will represent Canada at IOAI in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.
